Soon we’ll be packing away our summer shorts in exchange for the fun and comfy clothing of Fall. I for one, cannot wait! The first step in updating your wardrobe is finding your personal style. It may take a little soul-searching but once you discover your perfect color pallet and your individual look, your options in clothing become endless.

The change of seasons is the perfect time to go on a little shopping spree. Exchange your cardigan that you have been wearing the last 7 falls for a cardigan that is more trendy and more you. Drive yourself to the mall and try on all the pieces that catch your eye. Even if you only like two out of the ten shirts you tried on, buy them! Don’t be afraid to show off your new gear and personal style.
Choose Strong Accessories
If you're sick of your day-to-day outfits, you don’t totally need to start from scratch. The most basic outfits can be totally transformed with the help of a few key accessories. Add a little color to that black sweater dress with a fun multi-colored scarf or burnt orange boots. Modern touches of gold jewelry also make a great statement to your outfit. For men, wear that fun tie to work. You may inspire others to switch it up a bit.
Invest in a Statement Piece
Adding a statement piece to your wardrobe is the best way to level up. Your statement piece will be what reflects your personal style. A modern statement piece that is one of my favorites are trench coats. They’re stylish, comfortable and perfect for transitioning seasons. Knee-high boots are a fantastic and trendy statement piece for the fall season as well. They will keep you warm and stylish. Who doesn’t want that? This season my go-to knee-high boots are anything neutral or animal print. I’d definitely recommend you go out and buy yourself a pair.
Incorporate Vintage Items
Styles are always coming back! I mean come on...2021 is the new 1997. Don’t be afraid to dig through some of mom or dad's old clothes. I remember nearly 10 years ago when my mom offered me her cheetah fur jacket from the 90’s. It didn’t appeal to me so we sold it at a garage sale for $10. Two years later animal print fur jackets made a big comeback in fashion and I bought a new one for nearly quadruple the price.
The most important thing about fashion is to not be afraid and to make it your own. Fall into the new season with a little courage and you may just find yourself a new you!
